Medical University – Sofia has officially published updated information regarding tuition fees, administrative fees, entrance examinations, and application deadlines for EU and non-EU international applicants for the 2026/2027 academic year. All details are now available on the university’s official website.
Application Period for Foreign Citizens
The application period for international students (both EU and non-EU citizens) is scheduled as follows:
- Application submission: 27 July – 31 August 2026
- Applications must be submitted within this period in order to be considered for admission.
Entrance Examinations
Applicants are required to sit entrance examinations in the following subjects:
- English
- Biology
- Chemistry
The examinations will be conducted online (remotely).
- Entrance exam date: 3 September 2026
- Announcement of results and ranking: 11 September 2026
Administrative and Application Fees
Medical University – Sofia has also announced the applicable administrative and examination fees:
- Application document submission fee: 100 BGN (approximately 51 EUR)
- Transfer application fee (from another medical university): 200 BGN (approximately 102 EUR)
- Entrance examination fee: 400 BGN (approximately 205 EUR)
- Biology and Chemistry preparation manual: 30 BGN (approximately 15 EUR)
Please note that entrance examination fees are non-refundable.
Tuition Fees for English-Taught Programs
The announced annual tuition fees for selected English-taught programs are as follows:
- Medicine (English): approximately 9,950 EUR per year
- Dental Medicine (English): approximately 10,000 EUR per year
- Pharmacy (English): approximately 8,000 EUR per year
Tuition fees may vary depending on the chosen program and are subject to confirmation by the university.
Start of the Academic Year
For students enrolled in English-taught programs in Medicine, Dental Medicine, and Pharmacy, the academic year is scheduled to begin on:
- 19 October 2026
