The primary mission of Medical University - Sofia

is to provide excellent undergraduate, postgraduate, and healthcare education. It is internationally recognized for its achievements in cardio-thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, ophthalmic surgery, high-tech diagnostics, cardiovascular and inherited disease prevention programs, bone marrow transplantation, and the development of new synthetic and natural compounds.

Program Structure :The dental medicine program spans five years and six months of pre-graduation internship, structured into three stages:

  1. Medicobiological Training: Focused on the first two years.
  2. Clinical and Medical Education: From the second to the tenth semester, covering general medical and specialized dental disciplines.
  3. Pre-Graduation Internship: Hands-on training in six specialized areas.

Instruction is provided by eight departments, and graduates who pass the state examinations are awarded the title Doctor in Dental Medicine and a Master’s degree.

The pharmacy education program spans five years and is structured in three levels:

Program Structure

1. First Level

  • Focuses on foundational knowledge for pharmacists.

2.Second Level

  • Develops skills and knowledge specific to the pharmaceutical profession.
  • Students choose between three profiles after the sixth semester:
  • General
  • Clinical
  • Industrial
  • Specialized pharmaceutical and medical subjects are taught.

3.Third Level (Practicum)

  • Takes place during the X-th semester.
  • Conducted in public or hospital pharmacies that serve as training centers.
  • Practical work is assessed through written and oral colloquia.

Graduation Requirements:

  • Option 1: Pass a state final certification examination.
  • Option 2: Prepare and defend a diploma thesis.

Graduates earn a Master’s degree and the qualification of “Pharmacist.”
