About the university
Trakia University is a center for education, science and spirituality, a place for building specialists and scientists in all fields of knowledge.
It occupies a prestigious place in the top ten of the ranking of universities in Bulgaria and is an example of an international and multidisciplinary institution.
The University is highly accredited by the National Agency for Evaluation and Accreditation in Bulgaria with the right to teach in the educational and qualification degree of Bachelor and Master, as well as in the educational and scientific degree of Doctor.
Its structure includes the following units: Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with University Veterinary Hospital, Faculty of Medicine with University Hospital, Faculty of Pedagogy, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Engineering and Technology - Yambol, Medical College - Stara Zagora, Branch - Haskovo, Department of Information and Teacher Training, as well as Academic Technology Complex, Institute for Sustainable Transition and Development, Institute of Food Security and Institute of Zoonoses "Ope Health".
More than 9 thousand students from Bulgaria and the world are trained at the University by highly qualified lecturers, as well as guest lecturers from other universities in the country and abroad, in a total of more than 250 undergraduate and graduate programs.
The University of Thrace has its own modern training facilities. The teaching process and research activities are carried out in modern equipped lecture and computer halls, seminar and practical exercise rooms, specialized classrooms, language laboratories. The University has an Academic Information Centre with modern technical facilities and provides access to rich scientific literature and electronic resources - advantages that make it an integral part of the academic life of students, lecturers and guests.
Students acquire practical skills in the University's teaching and experimental facilities, the University's multidisciplinary hospital, the University's veterinary hospital, the University's own Academic Technology Complex, as well as in companies and organizations with which the University has concluded cooperation agreements.
Trakia University - Stara Zagora has a well-established experience in working on European projects. The academic staff actively works on educational and scientific programs, as well as on bilateral cooperation programs with partner universities and scientific organizations from Bulgaria and abroad. Students have numerous opportunities to study and undertake practical training under the EU Erasmus+ programme and to participate in international scientific projects and congresses, through which they build on their knowledge base and enrich their professional competences.
